Slumdog Millionaire part for BU graduate

A BU graduate who completed an MA in Screenwriting in 2007 is currently on the big screen in multiple Oscar smash, Slumdog Millionaire.

Former Hollywood actor David Gilliam, who also has starred in hit zombie film, Severance, has recently been working with local young people to create their own films. The Dreamwalkers project works with teenagers living in the Somerford and Christchurch areas. Three short films have been produced which deal with local issues of the past, present and future – the Black Death, an alcohol-fuelled car crash and a dystopian society.

David said: “The young people will be working with professional screenwriters and film-makers and will learn a lot at the same time as being able to contribute their own ideas. It will be hard work, but it will be worth it. Opportunities like this don’t crop up that often.”

The films are available to watch at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5K19PVbzY4 and will be showing at the Regent Centre in Christchurch on March 4th 2009.
